AIG no claims bonus question

I took proof of 6 years no claims discount to them from previous insurers and have been with AIG for two years, again claim free.

I have just had my renewal notice and spotted it saying i had 6 years no claims discount and not the expected 8 years. Rang them up and they said the maximum they provide proof for is 6 years irrespective if you've been with them longer claim free, effectively stealing 2 years from me when or if i choose to move on.

What can i do from here ?

Were they not saying the maximum they need proof for, i.e you are receiving full no claims benefits from them ?

Perhaps speak to a different operator or supervisor.

Various times speaking to various companies you can get several answers.
