Immediate impression is that it is overpriced for a car that will be 5 years old very soon. Although maybe they hold their value well as Volkswagens but you could get into a class above it for the same year for the same money, i.e. 5 series, E-Class, A6. But you may prefer this over all of them so thats your call.

Other than that, nice car, a friend has one and I drove it. No sportscar though despite the sleek coupe looks its the same underneath as the saloon, and it is only a 4 seater, not a 5 seater like the saloon if thats important to you fitting 3 people in the back.

This one looks well specced with the autobox and the leather (although I think they are all leather)

Thanks for the reply. The CC's changed to 5 seater from 2011 AFAIK so that shouldn't be an issue. My ideal choice would be an A6 but in 2011 the new model came out and these are carrying a premium of at least 3-4k over the CC's even on this price - thats just outside the budget unfortunately. Same can be said for any 2011 5 series, at least based on my research to date. Im trading a 2009 so want to come up to at least 2011.

I had one almost identical to that for 2 years except mine was manual. That one is a UK import top spec GT model. They were 5 seater from late 2010 but the middle seat is really an occasional seat for adults as it's a bit higher than the other two rear seats. Mileage is very low so make sure the service history is verifiable as UK cars usually have detailed service histories.

Mechanically they are the same as the regular Passat. Main issue I had with mine was that the gearbox formed a fracture and oil leaked out onto the clutch plate and flywheel causing damage to both. Luckily I still had a bit left on the UK VW warranty so had to bring it to a VW dealer in Belfast. VW replaced the gearbox, clutch and flywheel under warranty. To be fair this is not a very common issue on them, my cousin has a 2010 CC with no problems.

They do hold their value well but that one is a bit pricey even though the mileage is low.

We had one in our family and kept it 7 months.

it was fast , great economy, well equipped and looked great but it was just
    too uncomfortable.
interior space was restricted in the back obviously which was difficult with kids, but even in the front it was tight for me and the mrs to get a comfortable driving position.

Didnt like the ride either with the 18" monzas , overall felt like an overpowered fwd car (mine was 170 bhp).

Mrs now drives my old f10 and says it is worlds apart, but probably not worlds away on second hand price comparion.

Thanks for the reply. TBH I have been looking out for A6/5 series but I can't find any for similar budget in the same year (2011). I'll be coming from an Accord which is spacious and comfortable especially in the front. I do pretty decent annual mileage so the comfort would be an issue for me.
