Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any mechatronic engineers (either still studying or not) on this?
Its probably a pointless post but a friend of mine is currently in his first year of mechatronic engineering in DCU and has been forced to give up all extracurricular activities (despite being a sports scholar within the university)/social life in order to study and maintain good grades. I dont know whether its the nature of the course itself that it seems so harsh but I was wondering whether this is a normal thing?
I understand that college isnt particularly easy but should it be this time consuming for him?
    Thank you!

Different students require varying levels of work to keep their head above water. However, this amount of work seems far too much. I'd definitely question how he is structuring his study/work. There is no point in having a great degree but no life, University is about striking the balance between work and social activities.

I did ME, I can answer any more specific questions but it's hard to comment more without knowing the student really.
