Leaving humphries bike shop Finglas at 9am. Roughly 100k at 20k ph pace. flat route thru nth Dublin and east Meath, with a tea stop in Hayestown. Passing thru St Mags, Oldtown, Ardcath towards Newgrange and Slane, turning at Hayestown towards Skryne, Borrowaddy Road, Ashbourne, Ballyymadun and home. Quietish roads and hopefully not too wet.

Change your cassette to 12-28 or similar to start with. All sorts of bikes on audax spins and you'll get an idea of what to ride after a while.

I have a claud buttler its five years old. The bike needs a new group set. its nearly cost price of new second hand bike.

My head is melted l between racer with rack or an actual tourin bike.

Do audax riders carry much stuff? Clothes etc

The bike you have is fine. I've met lads doing 1000 mile tours with old bikes that were never expensive, and the country is full of under used bikes of all budgets.

Have a chat with Paul Sunday.

On Audax you see lads with huge cargo and also lads with next to nothing.

Met a lad on a difficult 300 with one 500ml bidon and a spare tube in Jersey.

Ride a few events and look around you and figure it out in time

weather forecast is good for tomorrow, bring raingear tho, we will be riding on mostly sheltered roards, so wind won't be too much of a factor, see ya there

This was my first time out on an Audax ride. Really enjoyed it ,nice relaxed pace .The weather was a bit damp ,no heavy rain and the wind did not effect us too much as we stayed between the ditches . I would like to thank Paul for a great course and great company.
