No Saorview - signals gone but Freeview fine!

Since Saturday last I have been getting no signal for Saorview channels although my Freeview channels are coming through perfectly. I have 2 aerials - one for Freeview and the other for Saorview. The 2 leads are diplexed into one downlead and the aerial for Saorview has a masthead amp. There are AFAIK no problems with the transmitter (Clermont Carn) and on plugging in an indoor aerial the Saorview channels came through. I have looked at the aerial for Saorview from a distance and can see no obvious problem. There was a lot of rain last weekend so only guessing here that it might have got into the masthead amp. But as Freeview channels are fine it can't be anything on the aerial downlead. Anyone out there any ideas?

Could be the power supply to the amp or the amp itself.

If the indoor aerial is picking up Saorview do you need the masthead amp at this point, good time to remove it, if it or the power supply has a fault.

This happened me and the power supply for the masthead was old and needed replaced.

I bought one of these from Amazon - did the trick and all is well again and not bad for less than a tenner (sterling).

But as a poster has said above, if a set top aerial can get great Clermont reception now, you may not even need the masthead any more. Too much signal is just as bad as not enough.

Don't forget to check the diplexers too.

Thanks for all the help. Aerial men called out today and used signal meter to ascertain that the problem was not at aerial end but with the power supply for the masthead amp beside TV. So fixed in very little time. Thanks to all again.
