Marlay Park Concerts

Marlay Park will only be able to host up to six gigs next summer.

A new deal's been signed between Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and promoters MCD to hold six concerts a year for the next five years.

2015 saw only five concerts at the Rathfarnham venue, with new crowd control procedures and restrictions brought in to protect local residents.

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council received over 450 thousand Euro in revenue from the events, which will be used to help carry out upgrade works in the park.

Previous projects include improvments to footpaths, the upgrade of Tamplin's Cottage and the renovation of the Craft Courtyard.

AC/DC set to tour Europe from May-July again, Nothing official announced but it's happening apparently. Could see them playing Marlay Park or Slane if it isn't in the Aviva again

Don't MCD usually announce a few high profile gigs just to leave everyone broke just before xmas.

Given that Coldplay are in London in June I assumed theyed be doing an Irish gig on the back of the new album too.

Kodaline just announced there for a gig on the 8th July.

I'd say the last gig will be Disclosure, they're missing an act to get the electronic crowd in, and the neighbours complaining.

I'd love this but I don't know if they're big enough to pull that size of a crowd? they'd need some serious support under them.. also given the venue if it was anything like Avicii the sound will be awful.
