Are there any makes other than JFC. A few years ago I remember seeing a square meal bin in Arrawbawn Co-Op in Athlone, but I can't see any reference to a square bin now when I google

What's wrong with the JFC one?
I have the JFC bin with the yellow lid. I can bring it over to the co-op on the flat car trailer and they take it off with the forklift and fill it. It holds nearly 800kgs of nuts. They put it back on the trailer with forklift and I strap it down to bring home. I take it off at home with bale handler on loader and put it beside meal troughs out in the field or yard. Waterproof, vermin proof and you can reach inside to bottom of bin to empty out and lockable as well.
    I think they're brilliant invention.

Well they should last forever as long as they're not dropped or maybe get burned in a fire.:)

I got the JFC 800kg one for €280, could have got a different taller one for €250 but I thought the JFC was a better design and easier to get the nuts out of.

That's not bad, could do with the same myself instead of carrying buckets across the yard. Did you buy that in coop?

ya have to agree the jfc one is great so good I bought 2 but they are expensive but will pay for themselves over time. you could save 20-30 euro worth every fill over bags. I feed weanlings and finish cattle so need 2 different types of meal. great job than messing with bags. I got 930 kgs of nuts in my one .. if you keep shaking it on the fork lift when filling it. never again though 800 is plenty in it

guess it would but it wouldn't hold much plus you'd want 2 very long arms to get the bit at the bottom :)
