Hi I email you the below the 19th October and still have not had a reply.

Dear Sir/Madam. I'm receiving unmetered bill but there is a meter on my supply. It was fitted by the county council years ago when they thought that i was using the supply on the farm. I was and am not - the farm has its own well and pump. At the time I discussed this with a council official and they called to inspect and agreed that it was so and told me to not worry about the meter. Is this now an issue?

    Can you please advise?

    Kind regards

    Hi OperatorOnHold,

    Thanks for your query.

As the meter at your property is a County Council meter, as stated above, this is why you are receiving an unmetered bill.

County Council meters are not compatible with Irish Water meter readings, so you are being billed based on Occupancy and the capped charges, as per the pricing plan set out by the CER.

However, once you are scheduled to receive an Irish Water meter at your property, you will receive notice two weeks prior to its installation and you will receive metered bills thereafter.

I hope you found this information helpful.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
