When i'm driving along and if i keep my foot steady on the accelerator for any length of time it goes into limp mode, what would be causing this?

Also when i go to lock the car the boot opens and the key seems to have become very sensitive, any ideas how i can sort this?

What year is the car? That is, any chance of some OBD-II diags?

That'll be OBD-II compliant. Get a fault scanner on there! :D

They will, they'll put a diagnostic scanner onto the OBD-II port and read any fault codes stored. I have absolutely no idea how much it'll cost to fix, beyond a vague notion that there probably isn't anything too drastic wrong with it. Could be an intake leak, a broken-down ignition coil, duff sensor (crank/cam/MAP/MAF/etc) yadda-yadda...
