I walk past it and I've heard it is but is it? Are you likely to find older men there?

Not officially, but it is quite popular with bears and hosts bear events from time to time.

Friday and Saturday nights are most popular with gay punters from what I've seen but as others said, it's not an official gay bar. In the last year or so, my friends and I have started going there for a few start up pints at weekends before heading onto the more typical scene haunts later. You get the traditional Dublin pub experience without the loud music which is the appeal if you just want to have a chat. I would say the age profile is 30 to 50 and mainly male.

It benefits from being a spillover from Pantibar across the way. Sometimes if we had intended going to Panti and see that it's mobbed, we'll have our pints in Nealons instead. Very friendly staff there and the open fire is really welcoming in the winter time. :)
