I got a new glasses prescription and the axis has changed. 2 or so years ago it was right eye 100, left eye 90. Now it is both eyes 90. Is this a negligible amount or has something changed in my astigmatism?

It really depends on how much of astigmatism you have and what the rest of your prescription is. For example if you were -1.00/-3.00 x90 vs -1.00/-0.50 x 90 a 10 degree change in axis would be more significant in the first instance.

    Thanks Daisies. I'm not sure how much of an astigmatism I have... my new prescription is: L +1.00 -0.50 +1.25. R +1.00 -0.50 +1.25

I'm not getting on with the new glasses anyway, they seem very, very strong, a jump up from my old glasses of 0.50 in right eye and +0.75 in left. I might go back to the optician.

    Thanks again. :)

editing to say... another change in the new prescription is my PD has gone down from 67 to 65. That would hardly make much of a difference, or would it?

Are thy reading glasses? Were your previous ones readin glasses? When did you pick them up? If you haven't already give it a few days to adapt and if you don't go back to your optician to get it checked

They are for intermediate use, mostly computer work and I would use them also for reading at arms length. I have tried them but when I take them off it's quite disorientating... a bit like when you try someone else's glasses that are far too strong!
