Probably be banned for even raising the subject, But why can you not like certain sections of society, Gay's Black's Traveller's etc. I don't dislike any person/group but if I did, I would be slated as being Racist etc...Can you see my point ?

There's no way of saying this that doesn't sound patronising (that's when you talk down to people), but if you dislike a group of people, based solely on their race... well, that's the very definition of racism, isn't it?

Why would you dislike an an entire section of society based on the colour of their skin, their sexuality or their choice of accommodation/lifestyle?

It kind of goes like this - if you dislike all gay people/blacks/travellers then you are a bigot and probably some form of idiot. Alternatively, if your neighbour is a gay black traveller who stole your TV and banged your wife then feel free to dislike that individual person, regardless of what group in society they come from.

Nowadays it is seen an being racist, homophocis, intolerant, etc, to express an opinion that is deemed any way negative about ANY group of people.

A colleague of mine (from China) says that she continues to be amazed at how we (in the West) are terrified of offending any group/race/cult/nationality and bend over backwards to accommodate.

Personally, I hold very strong (probably negative) opinions about certain, lets call them 'groups'. They are based on my own experience with such people and as such I believe I am justified in holding these opinions. Are they generalisations is some cases? Possibly, yes.
