Cleaning Shower Filter

Was looking up the online manual for our 5 year old Mira Elite ST today and came across the Filter cleaning section which made me realise we've never cleaned the filter in it.

Says to isolate electricity which is fair enough and undo 4 screws to remove outer casing. However it also says to isolate water supply. Don't recall seeing a valve on the supply from the attic tank. Is the showers flow control valve after the water filter or something? ie. If I unscrew the filter cap the water will flow out until the tanks empty?? Surely not.

Try and follow the pipe from the shower where it first appears in the attic and follow it to the cold water storage tank, there should be a valve along it somewhere.
If not, then you only have a couple of choices, drain the tank completely, or buy a special plug for pushing into the outlet of the tank to the shower to stop the water (you can fit a valve to the line then), or get very wet unscrewing the filter without stopping the water.
