Anyone who has bought New Balance runners please help me if you can.

I have never bought New Balance runners before and when I went to purchase them online the size options were different that the normal. e.g I am usually a size UK 5- Euro 38, but the website is telling me that a size 5 is 37.5 European size and a 38 European size is a UK 5.5. My problem is because I am ALWAYS a uk 5 Euro 38, now the options are different what should I choose, for example are New Balance known to be big fitting, small fitting etc. Hope this not laid out in too confusing a manner. Any help appreciated.
