I imagine this might be a simple one but I would appreciate any help.

If a case is listed under Judicial Review and as Motion fo Direction what exactly does that mean?

    Cheers

First day in to give the respondent (State Authority) and any notice parties time to file a statement of opposition and replying affidavits. It is a quick hearing before the Court Registrar usually taking 2 or 3 minutes.

The case in question has been defered (since I originally posted this) continuously, day-after-day, while being listed on the court services website.

It isn't due to be heard now until January 15th.

Can anyone shed any light as to why this may be the case? I can elaborated on the specifics of the case in a PM in necessary

It happens all of the time in Judicial Review. The state gets multiple adjournments to file affidavits. Then it goes to a list to fix dates for hearing.
