Timemark Seiko service centre

I had to leave my 5 month old Seiko Shogun SBDC007 in to Timemark because it was losing a minute a day and needed regulation. This was my first time leaving a watch in for a warranty repair and didn't know what to expect. I went to the service centre in Ballymount and when you drop your watch off you get no receipt or documentation of any sort. I asked for a receipt and the lady said they don't issue them because they never lose a watch anyways, left me with no warranty card and no watch or proof that I left it with them. I was told it would take a couple of weeks and they would phone.

Today the doorbell rings and it's the postie with my watch from Timemark. It was returned in a nice little service/travel box along with my warranty card. Also included was a job invoice just saying "job completed". I figured I might have got back something stating that the movement was regulated and a print out from the timegrapher.

I did get one extra docket for a pressure test and it has "PASSED" in nice big bold letters but this is only for 10 bar or 100 meters. The Shogun is a 20 bar dive watch so I phoned Timemark to query it and and they will not certify or give a warranty beyond the 10 bar because they do not have the equipment to test it. They have advised me that if I want the warranty to cover the full depth the watch will need be shipped to the UK for testing.

I can't ever see the day where I would ever get to 200 meters but am I being anal insisting that they have it tested correctly?

In case anyone is looking for an overpriced SKX007 or 009 they sell them for a cool 450 euro

Just back from dropping my watch to Timemark. The lady behind the counter didn't seem overly impressed with me when I said my watch wasn't tested to its correct depth. She looked at the pressure test docket and asked me if I knew that the 10 meant 100 meters. I said it means 10 bar and you don't need go to 100 meters to exceed it. Then I was asked if I was going to dive that deep. I said no but I want my watch certified correctly. She said we'll it will take two weeks and it had to go to Seiko UK, no problem I just want it correct.

Any of you with pilot style watches better bring a pilots licence with you if you are leaving it in with them for servicing.

oh and dont pay in advance, and go back months later after never getting the promised call that it was ready, and then be forced to pay again, as they have no record of you paying the first time, and you have long lost the receipt.
