Money Problem

This isn't a major personal problem but it is something nonetheless.

I had some plans for the past few weeks to out this weekend. I have a ticket to a show I was looking forward to.

Unfortunately, my funds are running low and I have some household expenses coming up in November.

I was short changed last week in a grocery shop. I gave in a 50. I left the shop and I few minutes later I realised - 'hang on here, I was given change back as if I handed in a 10'. I spent the past week trying to get 40.00 back with no luck what so ever. I have no comeback either because the manager took my receipt. I've been fobbed off so many times.

It leaves me short this weekend.

I think I would like to change my plans for this weekend and not go out at all now this weekend. The weather is promised wet for the weekend too so I think I would prefer to stay in. I won't be letting anyone down in that my plans were my own and I didn't make them with a group.

I mentioned my plans and the thought of not going out to my partner and he's OK with it but he mentioned - 'you paid money for a ticket to see a show, you're going to lose out on that and that's going to be a waste'

I see where he is coming from with this but I really don't want to continue with my plans at all for this weekend. If I continue with my original plan, it's going to push me into an overdraft later in the month and I don't want that. Not so close to Christmas anyways.

I tried to find a new owner for my ticket by putting up a Facebook post but I had no luck so far.

Try www.toutless.ie or www.adverts.ie to sell your ticket.

What specific advice are you looking for here?

Ah that sucks! Things like that always seem to happen just when money is tight!

Selling the ticket would probably be your best option alright - try all the buy and sell websites you can think of, Done Deal, Adverts.ie, etc. Also send an email round to workmates, get your OH to do the same. Put a notice on the board in your local supermarket (not the shop that short changed you though!). Maybe even try local radio?

If you can't sell it, then please don't sit at home looking at the wasted ticket. Just say to yourself, "feck it, I deserve my night out!" Slap on a smile, and make the most of it!

Do you know if there was cctv in the shop if so go back in and ask to see the manager again so that they can look over the camera if he refuses say you are going to call the gardai... Should get your change back pronto happened a few time to myself

If the money is spent on the ticket what extra cash do you need except transport costs.
