Currently have a symetrical 2mb internet package and am wondering about the pros and cons of switching to a faster download but less upload with another ISP.

I rarly upload...If my connection at 1mb upload became slow would it be a big problem...or become troublesome etc.

    No not really.

Where l am coming from is that l am currently with Airwire.ie 2/2mb
    http://www.airwire.ie/products

but l have seen adverts from Lightnet.ie
    http://www.lightnet.ie/home-broadband-2

Increase in speed but a lot of ISP are only 1mb upload anyway.

We can't really give you a proper answer to this because we don't know how much bandwidth you use or what websites you visit. I don't think it should be an issue because 1Mb isn't that bad for uploading.

I'd recommend downloading Netlimiter 3 (it's not free) to see how much downloading/uploading you do. The upload chart will show you whenever you exceed 1Mb if you change the units of measurement.

I'd be more worried about the 80GB monthly cap on Lightnet's packages. You could easily exceed that if you stream HD video.
