None of them are cheap, Glenina Vets (Renmore) are cheaper than Ark Vets (St. Mary's Rd and Knocknacarra). Glenina and Ark are both good. Ark have specialists in various fields, like orthopedics. But that's not ncessarily a reason to use them as Glenina would refer you if needed. There are also vets in Barna and Moycullen and there might be one in Briarhill, but I don't know how much they charge.

What for? If it's urgent don't worry about the 'cheap' bit.
Ark and Glenina have both been around for years and both have a number of different staff so it depends on who you get.
Personally I've found Glenina to be a bit more customer oriented these days but they are both excellent.
I've not used the others but I think a few of them have either trained or worked with the above so I wouldn't worry.
I've yet to see a vet that's just doing it as a business.

Ark is just down the street from me. I never really thought about shopping around as the time and petrol saved probably makes up for it. I've always found them very good.

Ark are very expensive, have heard good things about Glenina but havent used them myself. I have used Briarhill in the past, not too cheap either.

I chose against Glenina after phoning them as I found them to be not particularly nice in answering the queries I had. Ended up going with Briarhill. I have no idea what kind of value they are as I have no prior experience with vets but I was extremely happy with their service.

'Cheap' shouldn't be your first priority when you are looking for what will hopefully be a lifelong service for your animal. Most vet practices have websites and you can check out their facilities online and see what services they can offer. A clinic that has a lot of diagnostic equipment will have a lot of overheads so yes this will be reflected in the price of the consult. But if your pet is unfortunate enough to need serious care you'll be glad they can do blood work/radiography whatever on site without having to delay treatment for a few days while they are waiting for results to come back from somewhere else.

I use Briar Hill all the time, found all the Team there very pleasant, caring.

I would advise people to use more than one vet or at least get to know more than one. One Vet told me that my dog needed several hundred euro of treatment. Another said that it was nothing & would settle itself which turned out to be right.

All that equipment can be a problem in that Vets are getting used to people paying via insurance. So they can take the "safe" option & go for lots of expensive tests which can be crippling for those who aren't insured.

In the places where I've worked when a pet isn't insured the vet isn't going to undertake any course of action that isn't essential. No vet wants to run the risk of creating a bad debt.
I do agree it's good have more than one vet whose opinion you can trust. Everybody can get it wrong sometimes and people have different areas of expertise.

The girls in Briarhill won't be beaten. Top quality service at a very affordable price. They are easy on the eye as well as the pocket!!

I presume you own a small animal seeing as you are holding it in one arm?
