    From VW Website:

    Cork VW Dealers:

    Blackwater Motors - Cork
    Blackwater Motors - Fermoy
Blackwater Motors - Skibbereen (formerly Leonards)
    Newmarket Motors - Newmarket
Noel Deasy Cars - (Service only)
    O' Leary's Lissarda (Service only)???

O' Leary's have a large no of second hand cars compared to other Main Dealers; there is second- hand cars on both sides of the road now.

There is VW signs up in O' Leary's Lissarda and there is new VW cars in the
showroom? How can they sell VW cars if they are not a Main Dealer?

Would you get the same warranty from a service only Dealer?

I thought they lost the VW franchise a few years back.

A few years ago O' Leary's Lissarda sought an injunction to prevent VW withdrawing them as Main Dealers. O' Leary's Lissarda failed in their efforts to get an injunction. The Judge stated that VW could appoint a Main Dealer in Sherkin Island if they wanted to.

I knew they failed to get an injunction but they could have reached an agreement with VW later and held the main VW dealership.

VW signs are still displayed in the showrooms and there are new VW cars in the showrooms. Also, there are a significant number second-hand VW cars in the forecourt.

VW should insist that O' Leary's Lissarda advertise that they provide 'VW Service Only'. In my opinion the current VW logos and VW branding in their advertisements and on their premises is misleading for a potential customer.

Has anyone else come across confusing advertising in another garage?

O leary is an odd ball especially with used stuff with dreamer prices plus he would dump a car instead of selling it cheap. He buys newer stuff from another dealership but yes he shouldn't have VW signage etc.

I have a contact in a VW dealership if you want who will do a good deal..

I am going to hold onto the car I have. Thanks anyway.

I must count the number of second-cars in stock when I am passing. The stock of second-hands is crazy:rolleyes:.

In the last year or two, the stock of second hands has increased significantly due to asking crazy prices:rolleyes:

The petrol station and Spar shop are booming. He should stick to that business.

I don't know as I have not travelled on the Model Farm Road for a long time.

he sells used cars on model farm road.
I believe Blackwater motors plan a new vw dealership on Forge Hill , not a great location really. I thought the ex PJ O HEA premises would have been much better.
Believe Joe Duffy have now bought it and its to let , but cant see who would lease it as no large dealer needing new premises aside from Blackwater and dealers would not want to lease.

I thought they had planning for the old cmp place on the tramore road.

I would have thought that servicing is a bigger deal than sales.
Any idiot can sell you a car .. if you like the price then grand. If not go somewhere else.
O'learys used to sell new vws long before becoming a vw dealer.

I counted 94 used cars in O' Leary's Lissarda (excluding vans) in the park on the other side of the road to the showrooms. That figure excludes used cars beside the showrooms.

There was a VW 07 Caddy with 195k miles for sale for €6,500.

O' Leary's Lissarda became a Main VW dealer in 1989 and held that franchise for close on 25 years. There are no certainties in this life.

Pat O' Leary is back to where started close on 30 years ago; purchasing new Toyota cars from Macroom Motors and selling used cars and vans. The only change now is that he is selling new VW cars purchased from another main dealer.

That planning fell through, they wanted to put a VW dealership at one end and an Audi dealership at the junction by woodies and Musgrave park. Have a joint services centre. But objections to this proposal were submitted as this area already had a car showroom, which was recently upgraded by the last owners.

So Audi purchased a site by the Bandon Rd roundabout by Dunnes, while VW sales and service for the city are miles apart.
