Rural broadband help

    Hi guys looking for any help please. I live in the sticks i have tried getting a phone line put in but eircom came out today and said they cant give me a phone line as the phone mast has 10 points and the 10 points are already in use. So that means i cant get broadband. I have sky so i have a dish, signal is really bad on phones also, im at a loss have i any other option to get some internet? Im useless at these sort of things so if any one could help me i would be so grateful. Thanks so much

    Check out wireless broadband providers in your area. I have had wireless broadband for years, I ditched my phone as soon as wireless became available in my area. The line was so bad I couldn't even get dial up. I had 10mb down but am getting upgraded to 30mb for the price of a new antenna monthly charge remains the same.

    Go to this map and drop the marker on your house and tick the Wireless ISPs option. This should show you if there are any Fixed Wireless Access providers in your area.

    If there are give them a call and they will be able to tell you whether they can hit your house or not. However do also check to see if there is any negative feedback on them in this forum.
