Any of you have one of these? ,i know a guy in Italy selling a beautiful stealthy frameset, matt black with black decals, looks amazing. My main concern is the brakes, they are direct mount brakes, with the rear brake under the bottom bracket.Any of you got experience with these type of brakes?.
Any opinions on the brakes of the frameset welcome, thanks.

Sorry I just use that photo to show the frame, the frame I'm interested in has direct mount brakes.

I 've said that I don't want a bike with disks.. but looking at this Colnago makes me to need one!

Disc brakes are probably the business from a braking point of view, but I wouldn't be a fan of them to look at.

    Think of the weight!

The only disc bike I really want is the Colnago R3 disc, because it's the only one (AFAIK) that has properly short chainstays, a good chainline and a normal rear hub.

I know someone with a top-end Tarmac Disc, and whilst it looks nice and goes well, it did cook it's brakes on a descent that I managed fine with rim brakes (we were held up by a lunatic truck driver so couldn't let rip properly). It also has a weird proprietary hub to maintain proper chainline.

The Colnago looks like it has short chainstays but the hub is normal, so presumably the chainline is off. I dunno.

Anyway, w.r.t the oddly positioned direct mount brakes, it wouldn't put me off on a Colnago. They'll pick up more crud but I doubt it'll be a winter bike.

Ha yeah definitely not going to be used during the winter months.
