I am finishing my current job on on Friday 20th November. I have two days leave to take and there was always 4 days reserved by the employer for Christmas. How many days am I entitled to take considering my finish date here? I have been told 1 day, but I'm not sure if they're just pulling a fast one!!

You're not entitled to take any really, your employer can refuse any new leave requests between now and your finish date. How much leave you have really depends on the company's leave year.

If the company calculates leave between January and December, for example, and you get 24 days, then by leaving at the end of November, your entitlement is reduced by one-twelfth and then you get paid for what's left.

But if your employer runs their leave year from May to April (which is quite common), then your entitlement for the year to the end of November would only be half, or 12 days.
