Hi all,

I moved from the UK to ireland a few years ago and have been on jobseekers since. I now have an offer of work from a UK based company. They want me to do work in mainland Ireland but want to pay me as a normal employee in the UK which according to the HMRC int he UK is fine...I only pay tax in the UK.

I went into social welfare and explained my job could literally be 2 12 hour days this week and then 1 hour/no hours next week. So I was given a form to put at least 2 weeks on. Does this mean two working weeks or two calendar weeks (even if no work)?

Also is the week "per 7 days" or calendar week? Like I did 4 "days" (only 20 hours) over 4 days in a 7 day period but they were across the weekend/Monday Tuesday . So would this count as 4 days or 2 days of 2 weeks!

Ive called into the local social welfare office a few times and they seem fairly clueless. I just don't want to be assessed based on my first few days which were lots of hours when the rest of my days are only an hour or two!

The bottom line is the X's and O's . If I only work 1 day for an hour I have to put an X. I don't want them to have worked out oh an X is worth Z amount of money when it fluctuates so wildly.
