I've used Braun shavers for years - actually just 2 in nearly 10 years. They're very well built. The series 7 is the one to go for though, not the 5.

I bought it, seems like a good deal. there is 50% of my Xmas shopping complete. Get in there!

Thanks, could you give me an idea of the differences? I see the chart but no idea what the difference mean in terms of shaving?

Hubbie just use razor blades at the moment.....

I looked and both have similar good review?

Not big difference in term of shaving series 3 to 7 -same foil, same cutting element just bit more shiny with additional colourful lights . IMO it's just p...s extension ;-)

For many (most?) fellas, the foil shavers like this work much better than rotary. Mine has lasted me years and it's great. It won't cut as well as a wet shave, but it's good enough. It's try it and see really.

The cleaning centre is a waste of time I think, Amazon won't ship the cleaning containers, and god only knows where they can be bought in Ireland.

That's a really good deal I think - I wonder does the Kindle come with Braun branding in some way.

Parcel motel/wizard should get around that

For some reason the Series 5 can ship no problem to Ireland

If I try the Series 7 it wont even allow Parcel Motel????

Edit: Just seen: Please note this product contains a pressurised or flammable element which classes it as hazardous for transportation, and can only be delivered inside mainland UK. For more information please see our delivery restrictions.

If he's using blades at the moment, you might want to check first what he thinks of electric shavers in general. Some men just prefer a wet shave....

I had a 7 series some years ago and it's a good shaver as electrics go. The cleaning system does a good job.....the shaver looks like new inside after a full clean. But it's an ongoing cost to take into account and debatable whether it's worth it.

The more expensive one can not be sent to Ireland even using PM as it contains liquid.

Another interesting thing is Braun offer a money back guarantee so if you buy this bundle for £99, even though the shaver is £99 amazon invoice the items separately. Shaver £62.50 and Kindle £37.49 meaning so you can send the Braun shaver back within 90 days of use if you are not happy (directly to Braun in Dublin) and get a refund for the £62.50

Make sure the shaver is sold and fulfilled by Amazon, you might have to select other sellers when on the shaver page. Dunno what they have done

i use baby wipes to clean the razor i use, i put the inside of the rotors under the tap the water cleans them fine

I swapped to Amazon, had £15 voucher and got both for £80.30

    Happy Days.....

Thanks deadimmortal. That was it - just had to change the seller to Amazon. Now all I have to do is convince myself that I wanted these 2 consumer items in the first place.

They said they'd refund the difference once I've received the items, cheers

my recommendation with the brauns is after you shave and are putting it back in the bag provided, take the cord out of the actual shaver, otherwise the cable tends to break under the repeated squeeze into the bag.

Thanks. That was the trick alright. Of course I spent way more than the saving on other crap from amazon but still a good deal.
