    Hi there

My Dad is looking at an 08 2litre Diesel Sportage. Its got 164kmiles on it, full service history, timing belt replaced.

Its just for personal use, local rural driving with maybe 1 or two long trips in a week. Wants a high vehicle as my parents get older, easier to get in and out off etc.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any history of any major issues with these vehicles that he should be wary of...?

    Thanks in advance.

Other half has a 07 plate Sportage 2lt diesel Titan. Purchased brand new from UK and brought over to Ireland with us a few years back. The car has given no trouble what so ever in all the time of ownership and is still going strong - currently on 120k miles. Only things the car has required apart from the regular service is wear and tear - tyres/bulbs/wiper blades/timing belt etc. The car has been nothing but reliable from day one.

I was also looking to buy one of these a while back but just wasn't sure on the reliability.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Would welcome any insight from anyone else with experiences with the vehicle.

They're essentially a Hyundai Tucson, which I have found to be very good - if a bit cheap feeling.
