Did anyone else who bought this find it good?
I got it but noticed that I and everyone I tried it on were recorded as having a fever with temp being upto 1.5 degrees higher than normal and that temp differed sometimes by .6 of a degree in on ear vs another. I returned it and got a replacement and it is equally inaccurate!
If you haven't done so I think it's worth testing it out, particularly if you have kids as 1.5 degrees is quite a large margin or error and would give cause for concern with a child's health particularly.

I have the Braun 4520 model and you could get 6 different readings in a row from it. I have heard this is normal. I believe they also show higher readings than other methods of taking temperature. You need to make sure you haven’t got it too curved in the ear and the tip is not hitting off the ear as this will give a higher temp.

You usually get used to knowing the average temps for you and your kids so you really use it to see how far out of whack their normal temps are e.g. when sick my youngest would get temps of 38.x and my 3 year old would often temps of 40 c.

Mine has always read low on my 18m old. But this weekend it started reading 34 degree. I also thing she has an awkward ear canal which made the temp difficult to get. So this weekend when she was sick I got the Brother Max which does ear and forehead and am much happier with it

I'm going to send my new one back also, I feel there's a point not knowing if it's accurate or not. I have an old school 3 euro one from the chemist that I feel is reliable so I'll stick with that.

My GP said to aim it towards the opposite eye (i.e. when you put it in left ear aim towards right eye, and vice versa). And - if you're worried - take it twice in each ear, and go with the highest of the four readings. Basically it might accidentally take a lower reading, but it can't take a higher reading than the actual one.

Also if you're consistently getting a higher reading in one ear than the other, it could be an indication of an ear infection in that ear.

Thanks, the problem is that I and everyone I've tried it on seems to have a temp of between 99 to 100.2 .In one ear it might be 99 but in the other ear 100. I definitely don't have an ear infection and the highest reading is not consistantly in one particular ear. I think it's a bit of a dud!
I suppose most people might only try it when feeling unwell so they won't be surprised if their temp is elevated but when 4 people who are well have fevers I think something funny is going on. Maybe different models are more reliable.

You just need to take a few reference measurements while you're healthy, then use it to check whether you're above this when sick.

Have one for a few years, find it great and consistent.
