The name may suggest that they are selling cars at trade prices which would mean they offer no warranty. If this is the case then why would you bother buying off a dealer just to subsidize their profit margin when the risk is the same as buying privately.

I often wonder if the risk is in fact higher as there's a greater chance the dealer knows the faults of the car (the very reasons why normally you'd say a dealer can never sell a vehicle without the usual sale-of-goods obligations).

With a punter selling a car, he may have knowledge of incipient problems, but by the same token he may be overestimating the seriousness of something or just not want the hassle of dealing with the issue. At the very least it seems a bit more 50:50 (although of course the seller always has "home turf" advantage and some knowledge of history of vehicle).

You could be right but I don't want to buy privately. I bought privately 2 years ago and I'm not joking 2 hours after I bought the car the engine light came on... I bought new spark plugs, a new coil pack etc the light would go off then for 10 mins and then come back on.. I rang the person I bought it from and was basically told to F off... I was then quoted 950 to fix the problem I just traded it in.. I won't buy from a private seller again. I would just prefer a garage.

I think I will just go for it... It comes with fsh so that's one good thing ☺
