    Hi
I need to change my main headlamp in my 08 astra. I have the bulb and I took off the little panel by the front tyre and I can see the connection but I can't get it off!! Is there a little clip here or something as I don't want to pull it full force and wreck the socket?!
    Thanks

Err, is it the bulb or the entire assembly you want to change?

just the bulb. that was the video i was using but around the half way mark when he puts his hand in and gets the bulb out it looks as though is doing something and not just pulling it out straight. this is what i'm looking info for as i don't want to break it by pulling it out hard

There's normally a spring clip that you need to unhook first.

    Something like this

It's hinged at the end where the screw is. Usually you unplug the wiring loom, then open the spring.

That pic isn't of an Astra but it should be similar.

thanks colm, was looking for a spring clip alright but not sure if one is there. so do you think i should just pull the wiring loom till it comes off and then i should have something like your above picture??

Yeah, usually when I'm pulling a plug, I'll try and keep a finger or two on the back of the bulb to stop the spring from bending. Sometimes the plugs are tight.

This pic seems to be of an Astra H like yours

Ok, scratch that. You just turn the black plastic yoke anti-clockwise and the bulb comes out.
