Recommend a Hybrid?

    Hi Folks,

    I'm looking to buy a Hybrid bike, I don't mind what brand it is - i'm looking to spend max €1000 (bike-to-work scheme).

    I was in a bike shop last week and was recommended a Trek 7.3 FX 2010 Hybrid Bike (€750 roughly), anyone familiar with it?

    Could you recommend something else?

    Did a bike tour in Rome a while back, they had KTM bikes and I have to say that they were absolutely superb. It was one from the life range, same as the one in the link but without the disc brakes. I'm seriously comsidering buying one I was that impressed.

    Try the Cube sl Road pro for 799 (http://shop.pennyfarthingcycles.com/product-p/cube-sl-r.htm).
    You might like the disc brakes option.
    I'm torn between this and the Cube Hyde pro, which has a hub gear system (and hopefully less maintenance).

    Or you could try the new giant rapid 2 2016 which is an awesome machine.

    The Giant Rapid 1 or Rapid 2. Brilliant bikes and extremely light.

    I'm in the same boat. I've been in to several bike shops in recent weeks checking our various models. My 'shortlist' for hybrids is as follows:
    Trek 7.3 2015 (€749)
    Giant Escape 1 2015 (€599) (2016 model is €699)
    Boardman Hybrid Team (€750) - has hydraulic disc brakes

    I just can't make up my mind ... and have even considered going for a road bike!!!

    Thanks for the input, I probably should have given more detail initially. I already own a road/racer bike. I live in the Dublin (10 min cycle from town) and work in the city centre, I just want a bike for cycling around town/to work. My other bike is about 7 years old and just looking for something a bit different.
