I've a suckle cow, weaned two weeks tomorrow. She's still out on grass. This morning she's standing hunched up like if she was going to lick her hind leg or tail a lot but not doing so. She's switching her tail a lot & is unsettled. Can't see anything on her to be causing this. She's due to calve in February. Never saw anything like this before. Did anyone come across this before or what would you advise. Thanks in advance.

Lame? Mastitis? No harm to put her in crush to check for those and take temp as well. If not sure best job is call the vet, earlier they are out faster they can treat whatever it is causing the problem

You need to call your vet today!

There are several possibilities, none of them nice and some time-critical.

I can see no use for further discussion about diagnosis/advice on this thread and am locking it, in line with the F&F charter.

Farmer Dan, if you wish to update us once things have panned out, please PM myself or Kovu, and we'll happily re-open this thread at that point.
