Help with mortgage queries

Hi all, any advice would be greatly appreciated from those who have been through the process or anybody familiar with banking/mortgages!

We are looking to take out a mortgage with the Ulster Bank but are afraid that as the bank is based in Scotland, is there any chance that the sterling v's euro rates will affect the interest rates in the coming years??

Secondly, if Britain pull out of the EU is there a chance that the T's & C's of the mortgage could change? Could it have a direct effect on interest rates?

Is there anything we should be very aware of?? (the fine print......)
Should we employ a solicitor in taking out a mortgage? If so, why?
    Anything else?

    Many thanks in advance.

Can't answer your Ulster Bank query but you will have to get a solicitor to buy your house and they deal with the mortgage contract part as well.

Your mortgage currency will be euro denominated. The bank will have no real reason to charge any more for a euro mortgage than an Irish bank. Not something I'd worry about.
