Ryanair Family Extra, anyone able to answer this question?

I got a quote online for flights with Ryanair for 2A and 3C.

    The total came to 730.

But below the price there was a box called FAMILY EXTRA, mentioning half price insurance, bags, seats and priority boarding for kids.

Does this mean we would get a reduction on the overall seat price for the 3 kids?

Try clicking the box and see what it does to the price

I would try it without family extra as a normal booking and Aer Lingus have some really good offers on flights for next summer, lots of cheaper than FR.

family extra means that you get the extras cheaper.
The flight itsself remains the same.

You should have got the seats cheaper though already for the kids automatically, but I havent tried out how it works with the new new-website.

Paying for front row seats is a bit of an extravagance though, which for 5seats potentially adds 150return on your travel cost, and even with half price kids its over 100euro for nothing.

You're not able to sit front row with kids anyway since they're exit row seats.

    are you sure?

The seats in the middle beside an emergency exit must be occupied with people who can operate them
At the front though there is no emergency exit to be operated so kids sitting there should not be a problem.

The one similarity between the front and emergency exit rows is that you cannot stow stuff at your feet for takeoff and landing, but thats a different issue.

You get half price bags and seat selection for kids with it.

In the process of pricing up flights for next year and discovered that if we bring three cases I pay full price for mine and half price for each of the kids, so you don't have to assign a bag each to an adult at full price. Saves a few quid, not much but every little helps!

Nothing stopping you selecting the front row with kids, as far as I can see - you just can't have an infant <2 in the front row.

Lastly, kids pay the same fare as adults, only concession is infants sitting on an adult's lap pay €20 for each flight. Infants now also get a 5kg carry-on allowance, which they used not get.

Persons under 16 may not occupy row row 1,16, or 17. Infants (under 2) are not permitted in the above rows, and also row 15 and 18
