Ok guys. Supergirl aired on Thursday and looks promising and is a reason to keep Sky:D

Kara is Supermans cousin sent to earth to protect him. He was a baby leaving Krypton and she was 12 but while he aged she arrived later and was still 12 when arriving on earth.

SM gets her adopted until she grows up.

She gets a job as a PA in a newspaper and her step sister works for an organisation set up to combat aliens.

The story is that she pulls a prison ship to earth as she passes through the Phantom Zone where they were put by her mother who was a judge.

Needless to say, they want revenge and want to kill her...cue superhuman villians:eek:

Her debut is saving a plane from crashing which her step sister is on (same deal as her cousin)

Anyway, SM sends Jimmy Olson to Central City to help her and she also confides in a friend whose a reporter in the paper.

Cue a team of good guys who know who she is. Friend, step sister, jimmy and secret organisation.

I won't spoil the villian leader plot in case anyone wants to watch it on catchup.

What a great cameo by you-know-who in the early minutes of the show too! Haha.

Just watched it. Im not sure about it. On the one hand it gets straight down to business unlike Smallville which seemed to drag on Kal-els evolution forever. The fact she reveals her identity quickly is a plus-so we avoid the Lois and clark scenario.
Where I would be critical is the cheesy acting and the cartoon like Villains. No depth at all. Perhaps shallowness is de rigeuur for Superhero shows? The lead actress is fine. Credible but she too could do with a bit more hinterland
