Ive have discovered that i have been receiving one parent family tax credit for a extra 6 years. My son is now 26 but i was still getting this credit up to jan of 2014.

I never made a claim for this tax except at the time of birth and then i just never gave it a second thought

Will i have to pay this back?

If so will i have to pay it back in one lump sum? If i do i dont have that sort of money.

You can opt to bring it to Revenues attention and try to come to an arrangement regarding the payment plan.
