How do I know if the usage at my property is above or below average?

My three readings (two adult house, no kids - as much water conservation methods as we can manage) have been:
    21.338
    19.351
20.608 (we were away for two weeks of this, so how is it higher than the one before?)

Can you give some idea of the usage in, say, a single person house, a house with two adults, a house with a small family?

    Hi spurious,

Thank you for getting in touch.

The average consumption for one person in 66m3 per annum. Which is working out at roughly 16.5m3 per quarter per person. If you are concerned about your consumption, please see here for conservation tips.

Alternatively, if you are concerned about a leak, we would advise carrying out the following test; turn off all taps in your home, along with your Inside Stop Valve which is normally found under your kitchen sink. You can then check your water meter to see if your usage continues to increase. If it does, please don't hesitate to let me know and I would be happy to follow up on this for you

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

16.5 per person per quarter would be 33 per quarter for two, so I suppose we're not doing too badly.

I don't think we have a leak, maybe it was all the pre and post holiday laundry sent our usage up, but I'll try the test at some stage, thanks.
