I always listen to the show for 30mins before I have to get out of the car to go to work.

I always liked it but Anton said something which annoyed me this morning and for someone who is suppose to be intelligent he came across very ignorant.

It was in relation to Conor McGregors statements on the poppy wearing. Anton seemed to think it was great - I can't remember the exact wording but it was something along the lines of because its for all the galliant dead in WW1. And he laughed about the comment about Celtic top wearing pint drinking buffoons.

I think he should check his facts on what the poppy stands for in today's society not because of anything Irish people have done but what the British have made it represent themselves.

McGregor is an idiot and its now appears so is Anton.

PS I don't own a Celtic top and I know a lot of pioneers with similar views to mine!

Have to agree with this. I like anton but the way the issue was dismissed wasnt right. It has become the go to response for any criticism of anything british to say they probably support celtic, Man U or Liverpool every week. The poppy has been co-opted into a symbol to support all british armed forces past and present. In Britain you get accused of "not supporting our boys." Hardly seems right to tell those people that those "boys" from WW1 are all dead now.

An interesting other point is the white poppy which is a symbol of peace and pacifism but also gets abuse from the red poppy crowd
