Ewe Lamb Question

Looking for a bit of advice please.
The neighbours ram broke in and 'tipped' 2 of my ewe lambs yesterday that were just ready for selling.
I'm just wondering is there any injection I could give them similar to what you would give to heifers etc. to make them abort as I don't really want the hassle of having ewe lambs in lamb.

You can give them extrumate but I think you have to wait 4/6 weeks before you can inject, will they be going for slaughter or sold as stores?

Well they should be 50kgs so was intending to sell them at mart n let buyer decide what to do with them.

If you sold the tipped Two in a separate lot to the rest at mart. Just get auctioneer to mention something like "running with a ram" or "recently tipped". After that lads could make up their own mind. I don't think it would make a difference overall .

Just to report back for everyone's information.
Rang the vet but unfortunately there is nothing you can give ewe lambs to make them abort like you can heifers or cows.
So plan is to wait to scan them and donedeal if they are in lamb :(

He's wrong, I had purebred ewe lamb get tipped by a rogue/store ram lamb last year, vet gave her estrumate (same for cattle) after a number of weeks and she successfully tipped to a PB ram later on

    Induction of abortion

The maintenance of pregnancy in the ewe ceases to be dependent on the corpus luteum at around day 50. Prior to this time, abortion can be reliably effected with a single luteolytic dose of prostaglandin (for doses, see earlier). In cases of misalliance, the earlier treatment is given the better, but treatment before day 5 is ineffective.

Took your advice and went to a different vet last Saturday but same story. He said there was nothing I could do and he wouldn't give me anything to make them abort. Not sure why when you say your vet had no problem giving you the stuff.:confused::confused:

Just gonna wait and scan now.

Ewe Lambs are not sold as garaunteed maiden and it makes no differ to them haning up until they are within 6 weeks of lambing. I can't honestly understand why your worried bout em?
