Water Scheme Query?

    Hi Guys,

I wonder if you can clarify something for me...

I'm being chased up for this year's payment (2015) from the local Group Water Scheme but my understanding was that Irish Water are taking over all such schemes and as a consequence, this service will be free to water scheme users.

Is this the case or can you clarify the arrangements for Group Water Schemes, please?

    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Irish Water was set up as Ireland's new national water utility company by the Water Services Act 2013. The responsibility of the public water mains and wasterwater mains infrastructure now lies with Irish Water.

If your Group Water Scheme is private you would need to contact the members in charge, as this would not be an Irish Water matter. However, if your Group Water Scheme has been taken in charge by your Local Authority, Irish Water would issue you a bill.

I hope you find this helpful. Please feel free to contact us with any other queries you may have.

    Kind regards,
    Niall
