Ive been looking for a cheap enough 1.0 for a while now and I came across a Suzuki Swift near me for €250 which is very cheap so Im a little apprehensive. Ive never came across a Swift whilst looking before so maybe this is an average price I dont know. I will hopefully be bringing my uncle with me who is a mechanic but in case he cant make it, anybody have any ideas what I should be looking for? It has no Tax or Nct as you'd expect but I had budgeted about 1k so I dont mind putting 5/600 into it if needs be.

What are these cars like to drive for learners? Also he's claiming it does 60Mpg which is absurdly economic no?

    Thanks in advance!

You'd be better off spending the 1k on something half decent with a long nct.

If it has been sitting where it is for months/years the tyres and probably gone beyond repair, inside the car could be damp and have mould, then you have to look at the engine etc, if you got it for €250 and brought it direct to the NCT to see what's wrong with it that might be the best bet.

    This..
Surely there are enough small cars about ~€1k with nct so you don't have to be going buying some lucky dip heartache.

Here's a swift for €1k with some test, clean looking motor, I expect with a roll of twenties in your hand and a bit of work it could be got for €750/800
