Issue with Part Time Work

Just wondering if anyone could advise on an issue my friend is dealing with.

The past year she was been working part-time and was getting three days a week which was fine.

A few weeks ago she had a disagreement with the person doing the rota who is now making life impossible. Once you work four days a week you are classed as not working part-time and receive no payment from the social welfare.

So what is happening is she is giving her four days a week and less hours per day. In effect my friend is now working for 20+ hours for a couple of euro extra a week.

The person is ticking the box saying full-time work was available that week when it was not, she is told to come in four days a week for 6 hours.

The person also wrote a comment on the slip you hand in saying my friend had the option of a days work but rang in sick.

To be honest my friend went through a bad time recently and she probably created these problems for herself.

I don't know if what the person doing the rota is doing is legal i presume she wouldn't be otherwise she wouldn't do it.

The big issue for me is writing a comment on the sheet which to me seems like an act of bullying.

There's nothing your friend can do about this except look for another job, hopefully full time, and take responsibility for the fact that as you say, she messed this up for herself.
When you bite the hand that feeds you your always going to come off worst.
