2FM music policy

When 2FM changed their music policy around a year or 2 ago, I was expecting that they would play songs from the 1990's in keeping with their revised 'no song pre-1990'. So you would have hoped to hear the good stuff from great years like 1990, 1992, 1993 etc..

Their main output now on most daytime and nighttime shows is new/chart music and an 'oldie' from the last 5-10 years.
Apart from the odd 'throwback' feature on some shows, Larry Gogan's golden hour where he occasionally plays a handful of 90s songs, Chris and Ciara 90s hour on Thursday nights and Dan Hegarty playing the odd 90s indie song.......why aren't they playing more 90s songs as part of their main output, like other 'youth' stations do (even Spin, i Radio and FM104).

Are they just aiming the music at teenyboppers/teenagers/students now?

Nicky Button plays a Hometown song every day. Plays a few from his old Westshyte mates too.

Who's music director there at the moment?

Sure if they're playing early 90s music they may as well play 80s as well.

But it wouldn't fit the station to have The Beautiful South, Chesney Hawks or The Shamen on.....

As a fan of indie/rock music I'd sooner listen to CRC and Midwest than 2fm.

The music being played on 2FM is at its worst in its history. Pirate station NINETIES in Dublin is filling that void!.
