I cannot believe this is actually for a pretty legitimate belt. I mean "regular" belt is pretty much being a legit world champ at that division isn't it? I'd be delighted if Roy won for his legacy and so he can finally bloody retire while still having some of his wits about him. Hopefully he retires straight after if he wins. If he decided to fight Lebedev again for the super WBA belt I'd be getting out the rosary beads for him.

Both these men are on the same path. Poor oul Enzo never really made it back after the Hayemaker took him out. Roy is a great commentator / pundit & thats where his future lies.

Don't think it's for a belt. I don't know what's more bizarre, this fight or that RJJ was given a Russian citizenship. Anyone else think this it's 50/50 fight? Enzo won't back down.....

Yeah just heard the WBA have denied its a title fight...still wouldn't surprise me if they throw in some "interim" "regular" belt to try and sell this fight a little.

Yeah definitely a 50/50 fight...although Enzo will have to win by KO. No way is he getting a decision in Russia.

Sad viewing for anyone that hasn't seen it already. A nice touch by Enzo immediately after he KO's RJJ.

I watched it on the night and agree that it was sad viewing. RJJ should have hung the gloves up long ago. The KO was not nice to watch at all. Great sportsmanship from Enzo as you said, and he may yet have some reasonable success at Cruiserweight. But hopefully that's it for Roy.
Has RJJ even mentioned retirement after the Enzo fight? I haven't seen any post fight interviews.

He really really wont. Any decent cruiser with half decent power will KO Enzo easy.

Another good article. Sounds like Roy Jones' childhood was hell. I also liked how he dismissed the idea of being freakishly talented and instead attributed his skills to being worked like a dog from he was no age.

“And sparring until I drop. Nothing but training. On my way up as a pro, they used to say I was the most gifted or talented athlete ever to fight. Bullshít! Most talented or gifted?” he glares at me, eyes burning. “Try hardest worker. No fighter in history ever worked harder to achieve their dream than me. Early days? Shít. I worked harder than any fighter in history. Period. End of story.”
