UPC/Virgin - multiple wired connections?

Hey all, I have a question I'm trying to figure out.

My flatmate and I have UPC (now Virgin) broadband. It's reasonably good, all is fine. We have a router in our living room that plugs into the UPC point and gives us Wi-Fi.

However, this apartment has UPC points in both our rooms as well. Is there any way we can use those to wire our computers directly (ie not use the wireless), or is our only solution to run cables all over the apartment? It seems mad that there are all these apparently useless boxes that won't talk to one another.

Those coax points can't be used to distribute broadband. You could use homeplugs to do that.

Buy cat5 cable already paired with plugs n eBay and hard wire.

Thanks. Can you explain what those are?

    That's the last resort, yeah.

    Here you go.

Cannot recommend them enough! I have my PC upstairs wired directly thanks to these and it's a perfect stable connection with 0 dropouts and full speed.

One plugs in near your router and you cable it from the plug to the router. The other plugs in near your PC and you cable it from the plug to your PC.

I don't know the exact science, but they use the electricity in your walls to create a "wired" connection. I've recommended them to a few people and have had 0 issues so far.
