Am I the only person that watches it?

Anyone I ask thinks its sh1te but I like the articles about the lost civilisations and other discoveries that are made but never seem to make the news.
Granted, it's hard to take the hosts seriously but I find it an entertaining show.

I thought Alien vs. Predator sorted this out?

    Stargate SG1 was good.

The first episode was intriguing but the more they talked the more obviously ridiculous it became. I used to watch it as a form of car crash TV but it's gone completely off the deep end, I'd say they sit in meetings trying to come up with things that could be attributed to Aliens these days, rather than working from some research and evidence.

An example of the tricks they play would be one episode where they said it was completely impossible to build some wall (I can't remember which wall, but one of those walls with massive blocks all carved in unique shapes and very small gaps in between). Later that day I was watching one of Peter Weller's ancient engineering documentaries, and I'd swear they were using the exact same footage (same channel), where the camera just panned to the right and Peter explained how the wall was not finished, and how we could see the method of construction because the stages were laid out in front of us.

Ancient Aliens flat out lies, it willfully ignores what's right in front of their faces and just make **** up instead to make money.

Was Hitler an alien who kept lemons in his pockets in order to control the SS and raise an army of the undead to open a portal to Mars so he could rule China from his command post inside the pyramids?

Find out @8pm after the latest episode of Radiator Stars where people battle with each other to purchase a bleed key that was once owned by Brian Dennehy.

They should rename the station to The "History" Channel

Forget this history channel rubbish and go read "Chariot of the Gods" by Von Daniken instead. Completely preposterous but a good read.

Crap like that makes you yearn for the days there were only four channels.

Thought this was just one of those 2011 memes we all forgot about. Sorry to hear it's still going.

Wow, some of ye think so highly of yourselves. Seeing yourselves as unique in the universe and disregarding the possibility of intelligent life forms who may want to come to Earth to visit places like Roswell and Boyle in Roscommon, why Boyle I don't know....

Lucky. We had RTE 1, Network 2. If we twisted the aerial just so, we might get UTV or BBC Norn Iron.

I always took the premise as racist:

brown people couldn't have built complicated structures

But I've never seen a second of it, so I could be entirely wrong.

I couldn't remember his name but I remember the books: the giant designs in South America only really visible from altitude? Definitely evidence of aliens. Definitely. Well, ...

There's a bit of that in it alright, though not so much racism as "I can't work out how to do this, and I'm very clever, so ancient people would have been much too stupid to have worked it out."

I've tried to watch it, but the blatant idiocy on show makes me absolutely livid.

Stuff like Ancient Aliens makes me wonder what happened to the likes of Discovery and the History Channel. They used to produce quality and genuinely interesting documentaries on a range of topics. Today it's a clusterfcuk of reality nonsense like Storage Wars, Truffle Wars and the likes of Ancient Aliens.

And most of their "serious" shows are filled with so many errors and made up stuff, it's unreal.

The name Discovery holds no credibility anymore.

It's because people are getting more stupid and just want to watch stupid things.

The whole Sky documentary section, especially the History Channel, is seriously gone to fcuk compared to what it used to be.

BBC 4 have some very good documentaries both historical and current. I loved the history channel but now it's a joke.

Agreed such a pity, national geographic channel still has a few decent ones now and again but overall it's awful. I just look online for anything decent now

Lol. I watched that one day when I was sick.

It seriously was all debunked of course. Very interesting watch too.

But I still watch AA :)

I think most people watch it secretly themselves but know the slagging they would get if they told anyone they did.

It has an audience clearly, it's on its 8th season

Remember the test card? A test card is what should be broadcast when stations have no content to broadcast. If they trimmed the rubbish, and only put out what was worth watching, it'd be like being back in the early 80's again. Start at about 2ish. Close down at midnight. Test card in the meantime. Mostly test card. Some stations would be entirely test card. On repeat.
