Hi, I am looking for advice on what car to get. I lost my no claims bonus as I have not had insurance in my own name for 3.5 years so I would like a car that will keep insurance to a minimum while I build my NCB back up. The car will be used about twice during the week for the work commute (a 28km round trip each day) and also at the weekend on Sundays to get to my folks house (37km round trip some of which will be motorway driving). I have no kids so don't need a saloon or a car thats too big. Also I suppose my budget will be no more then 10k. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated for a car with not much use in terms of mileage. I normally cycle everywhere and to work but the 2 days mentioned above would be rest days from the bike and the car maybe needed more during the week weather dependent especially with the winter nearly upon us:). Also I don't mind buying privately.

Has to be micra or similar.. Small, easy to insure/tax, reliable, economic, not too much cash tied up in a car only to be driven twice a week..

Id find it hard to justify spending 10k when it's not going to get much use. You'll be spending enough on insurance. a €2000-€3000 yaris or similar might be an idea.
