Ive read that the constant clicking noise is when the programmer is on its way out. Its installed a good 10 years.

can i do it or do i need a plumber or electrician to replace it?

any idea what the costs would be associated with replacing the timer with a new one?

I had two Sunvics go kaput. The third programmer I got was not branded Sunvic but it was a direct replacement. I swapped it myself in less than 2 mins as there was no need to rewire/remove the mounting plate.

I'll post the brand name later when I get home as I can't remember it now.

I forgot all about this but I'll follow it up now.

The replacement I got for for the Sunvic unit is a CTC Eziprog 3-24/7. I got it from Emerald Electrical on Whitehall Road. It look identical and was a straight swap. I just loosened the small screw underneath and removed the unit by tilting it forward. The new unit fits the existing mounting plate.
