Hob & oven for a serious cook, what/where/when to buy?

We are pretty much decided on two ovens or a double oven (eye level or just below), with a induction hob. I have reads lots about the induction hobs, the pros and cons, and we are set on an induction.

We're both into cooking baking, roasts, every day stuff. We do parties, Christmas dinners for larger numbers. We're going to be doing up the house in the next year or so, so we have time to make our decision on what/where to buy.

Firstly, is a double oven a good idea? It seems that this means one big, one small. I wonder is the small one any use? Or are you better off getting two proper ovens.

And regarding microwaves...can the small oven also be a microwave, I've done a search and don't see anything like that, but I know they exist, but maybe it is a compromise where it is neither a good over nor a good microwave.

Can anyone recommend what hob and oven makes/models we should be looking at buying? For quality, I presume it's the usual suspects: Bosch / Neff etc.

We're hoping to pick up the ovens and hob at a good time of year for sales/bargains. Anyone know of good places in Dublin to keep an eye out?

    Any/all information really appreciated. Thanks!

if you want a decent oven and intend turning out some nice nosh think about buying two single multifunction single ovens with a built in microwave fitted over one of them. I would go with siemens but only the ones made in Germany, they are in a different league to their Polish or Turkish counterparts

Thanks for this. Yes, Siemens is on my shortlist. And not gooig to scrimp on budget. Going to go for a proper self cleaning oven.

It doesn't seem immediately obvious how you identify which models are built on Germany, other than seeing the model in store and checking the badge. Is this the case?

When you are discussing your requirements with the salesman stress that they have to be made in Germany, you will normally see GMBH on its identity plate.
