Can I apply online for my first full driving licence or do I need to go into office?
Also do I need an eyesight report? As clear as mud on website(or more likely I'm dim as hell !!)

    How to apply

You have to apply in person to one of the NDLS centres. You do not have to provide photographs with your application but you do need to bring additional documents with you in order to confirm you are the person who is applying for the driving licence.

Pointless going to the NDLS website unless you have infinite time and patience.

You won't need an eyesight report unless you used to wear glasses (and had the 01 notation on your permit to denote this) and now don't need them any more such as you had laser surgery, for example.

You don't need the eyesight report to apply for your actual license, once you have passed your test. (As long as you aren't changing anything about yourself, such as the Lasik situ mentioned above.) You do need one when you are first applying for your learner permit.

Seeing as i was at the ndls centre for provisional licence last year , had photos taken etc, can I just apply by post now? From what I've seen on form that's the case? I think I'll give them a ring. Don't fancy queueing unless necessary

All 1st time full licence applicants, and those for replacements (damaged, lost etc) and exchanges must present in an ndls office. Doesnt matter if you were in before for a provisional licence. You are upgrading, so you need to present in person. No exceptions made.

You have to go to the NDLS centre to apply for your full license. Giving them a ring is pointless. They need to take your picture (with a special camera) that is embedded in the license itself. They can't do that if you aren't there in person. If you don't want to queue, then make an appointment on their website.
