Dolan seat post info

I'm thinking of a buying a TT frameset but its a little too small for me. It feels great apart from the saddle which is just a little too low by about a 1-2cm when at the minimum insertion mark. I'm wondering about getting a replacement seatpost but I'm not sure which to get as there is no frame name on the frame. Its an aero seatpost with a teardrop shape as in the photos. Its a dolan frame but probably a good few years old.

The seat post is a "wing alpina" which is 300mm long with the teardrop crosssection being about 46mm long. (See attached images).

Does anybody know what the model of the frame is or what type seatpost would fit (aftermarket for example). I presume these are quite popular for track riders so I'm hoping there are one or two on here with the info :-)

Looking on the dolan website it seems the following might fit but it doesn't give the dimensions of the crossection!

    Thanks for any help!

There's no way that DF4 seatpost will fit. The DF4 is a recent addition to the Dolan stable and the seatpost on mine is 55mm deep

May have a better chance if you throw up a picture of the frame, or speak directly to the guys at Dolan

Another option may be to look at a taller saddle if it is only 1-2 cm you need.

Hi guys, thanks for the info!

Beasty, I'm afraid I don't have any pics of the bike but I'll try get one. It has the gear cable stops riveted to the down tube if that helps identification as opposed to internal gears cables. The DF4 seatpost seems to be the only one that has a teardrop profile on the Dolan website so maybe Dolan don't stock the type of teardrop seatpost for this anymore as it's too old? I was hoping there might be some aftermarket that could suit though as supposedly some early Dolan and planetX frames were the same?!? Are there "standard" teardrop seatpost sizes?!?

lennymc, I borrowed the bike originally with an adamo saddle that is a little taller (from the rails) and it was pointing up a bit too and the position felt perfect but the saddle pointing up wasn't too comfortable! So I think if I could get a seatpost that is a smidge taller I'd be laughing.

There's every chance their onsite staff are actually working in the warehouse!

I would give it a day or two before following up with them

Dolan got back to me yesterday evening which is good. Unfortunately the seatpost is the longest that was available for that type of aero seat tube which would belong to an Pallotola/Aria and Arc frames FYI. This means the TT bike is just too small for me :-( Maybe I could check out taller saddles but I can't imagine there's much higher than an adamo. :-(

Thanks for the help though Beasty and lenymc!
